Melanie Austin

Melanie being an Indiana native began her dance training at the age of 3.  After graduating high school, Melanie trained in Chicago and later Los Angeles. With representation from an agent, she secured numerous performance opportunities in music videos, films, and live entertainment.

Melanie returned to her hometown of Indianapolis where she danced professionally as a Pacemate for the NBA team the Indiana Pacers.  She was a Pacemate for 8 seasons and was the Captain her last 3 seasons.  While she was a Pacemate she auditioned for Season 3 of "So You Think You Can Dance".  She is really proud of making it to the top 50 finalists in Las Vegas.

After relocating to Oklahoma, Melanie transitioned into coaching and choreography with the Tulsa 66ers—now the OKC Blue of the NBA G League—before advancing to work with the NBA’s Oklahoma City Thunder. She is currently in her fifth year as a Performance Teams Assistant for the Oklahoma City Thunder Entertainers and was part of the organization during its historic 2025 NBA Championship season, which she considers a career highlight.
